우린 그 가르침만 잊지 않고 살아간다면 반드시 진정한 성공에 이를 것임에 틀림이 없다.  

-My mother taught me about weather:

"It looks as if a tornado swept through your room."

-My mother taught me about stamina:

"You'll sit there till all that spinach is finished."

-My mother taught me about behavior modification:

"Stop acting like your father！"

-My mother taught me religion:

"You better pray that will come out of the carpet."

-My mother taught me logic:

"Because I said so，that's why！"

-My mother taught me about envy:

"There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don't have wonderful parents like you do！"

-어머니는 내게 날씨에 관해 가르쳐 주셨다. 

"네 방은 꼭 폭풍이 휘몰아친 것 같구나. "

-어머니는 내게 체력에 관해 가르쳐 주셨다.

"너 그 시금치 다 먹을 때까지 절대 꼼짝도 마라."

-어머니는 내게 행동 교정법을 가르쳐 주셨다. 

"네 아버지를 닮은 짓은 절대 금지야！"

-어머니는 내게 종교를 가르쳐 주셨다. 

"숫제 카펫 밑에서 그게 나와 달라고 빌어 보기라도 하렴."

-어머니는 내게 논리를 가르쳐 주셨다. 

"내가 그렇게 말했으니까 그런 거야, 알겠니！"

-어머니는 내게 부러움에 관해 가르쳐 주셨다. 

"세상엔 너처럼 좋은 부모를 가지지 못한 불우한 아이들이 수없이 많단다！"
